Where do volunteers check in? What time should
volunteers arrive at the park?
The time to arrive was on your activities sign up
sheet. 8:00 am is the arrival time for most
volunteers.
As walkers and their families arrive, will there be
some sort of refreshment (i.e. bagels, donuts,
coffee, juice, etc.) offered?
The Salvation Army
Canteen truck will be available for coffee, tea,
juice & cocoa; Tim Horton’s donuts will also be
available.
How will people know we are volunteers?
You will be wearing
a badge. Ambassador/Walk guides will have bright
orange vests that say ASK ME on them.
How will I know what my job is as a volunteer?
Volunteers will
receive a detailed job description prior to the day
of the Walk. Also, these job descriptions and
responsibilities will be posted at each location the
day of the Walk.
Can I bring my dog?
We ask that walkers
kindly leave their pets at home out of consideration
for the many people on the autism spectrum that are
extremely afraid of dogs.
Is there parking?
Volunteers should
park at the far side of the parking lot to allow
space for walkers to park.
The Goddard Park rangers will be directing traffic.
Where will the check-in/registration be? What time?
Under the clearly
designated Registration/Check in Tent on Fields A &
B at Goddard Park. There will be signs for parking.
Again, Goddard Park rangers will direct you to
parking. Check in will be at 9 am and the Walk will
kick off at 10 am.
Can I write a
check?
Yes, to the Autism Project of RI. If you are
walking with a team, please put the team name on the
memo line.
Can I buy a t-shirt?
A donation of $100
or more will get you a t-shirt. 1 green ticket from
registration = 1 t-shirt.
Where do I pick up my t-shirt?
At the Gazebo under
the T-shirt pick up sign.
Can walkers turn their money in late?
Yes! Please mail

All donations are
tax deductible. Receipts will be available upon
request.
Where are the restrooms located?
There are 6
port-a-johns and 1 handicapped port-a-john clearly
marked on the Walk map.
Where will the walk begin?
In front of the
gazebo.
Will there be a water table in the middle of the
walk?
There will be one
water stop along the walk route.
How will people pay for food/drinks?
Your donation to
the Walk offers you a food ticket & a drink ticket.
Tickets: Red = food, blue= drink
What if it rains?
The walk will take
place rain or
shine. Think : LIQUID SUNSHINE!
How long is the Walk?
Imagine Walk 2006 is an informal walk, approximately
2 miles long, and will not have an officially
measured course. The goal of the day is to increase
awareness, raise funds and offer families an
opportunity to enjoy a family event.
