Corporate Philanthropy - Making a Difference Through Donations - 05/24/17

1 in 68 Americans are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and it is the fastest growing developmental disability in the world. Here at BuzzParent, autism is a cause that is close to our hearts, and we believe in the true importance of autism awareness and in supporting organizations that make a difference for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

The Autism Project (TAP) in Rhode Island is one such organization. The team at TAP works tirelessly each day to offer high quality direct services, support, workshops, and trainings for individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who serve them. They strive to create unique collaborations with local, national, and international businesses to further their mission and believe in a world where all individuals with autism will be active, valued members of their local communities.

At BuzzParent, we review kids’ toys and help parents decide what toys are best for their children. We are only 2 months old and are still growing, but we feel it is essential as a business to give back to the causes and organizations that we care about. We have decided to give The Autism Project a share of 20% of our profits on an ongoing monthly basis. We hope this shows our gratitude to TAP for the work that they do and inspires individuals, community members, and developing companies both big and small to give back. There are many ways to reach out to the community and offer value –through your areas of skill, resources, or hidden talents – and we want to encourage all those who use BuzzParent to make a difference for the causes they care about. We also want to encourage volunteerism in our community. Time is a valuable resource, and volunteering is incredibly rewarding for both the organization and the volunteer. Whether you volunteer for The Autism Project – which we highly recommend! – or for another organization, it is a truly wonderful way to give back.

Help BuzzParent Make a Good Decision?

We would love guidance from this community on the best toys for children with autism. Please feel free to share your toy suggestions and comment here and we will begin the process of investigating and reviewing the toys for BuzzParent! Thank you all for supporting this truly worthy charity!
